After a crushing 29 point defeat the first time the Warriors took on the Spurs, they are treating this matchup like they’re playing the fucking Washington Mystics. With Kevin Durant already sidelined with a knee injury, the dubs have deemed this game a lost cause, sitting their four next best players too.
Let me get this straight. I came home for one day of relaxation before leaving for a week of sin. The best two teams in the NBA are set to square off the one night I will be home. I upgraded from my shit hole Poughkeepsie dwelling to my Fairfield palace equipped with a 65 inch tv, unlimited snacks and beer, and every channel imaginable. The only thing I want to do is sit on my couch, get drunk, and watch the best of the best battle to the death.
Instead, Steve Kerr ruined my weekend as well as an easy, much needed win for his team. Golden State has lost 4 of their last 6 games and their idiotic management team decided why not give up on arguably their most important matchup.
Now that I have properly exemplified how much of a pussy Steve Kerr is, it’s important to note that the Spurs have extremely significant injuries. Kawhi Leonard is out after taking an elbow to the face and Lamarcus Aldridge was just listed out indefinitely with a heart condition. This game was doomed from the start, but Golden State announced resting all of their players before they had any idea of the Spurs’ injuries.
Even the players seem perplexed as to why they are resting during such an important matchup. When asked about being benched by ESPN’s Chris Haynes, Andre Iguodala said, “Nope, no clue. I do what master say.” Some casual slave humor out of the high flying veteran? I guess so.
But whatever. It’s March now. The NCAA is shoving unpaid child labor down our throats and honestly for the most part the games have been great. I’ll just watch Duke vs. Notre Dame instead.
